One more week, Monarchs!

Remember: if you are absent, I expect you to refer to this priority list for your make-up work! Be sure to get your work turned in within two days of your return to class. If you missed a quiz, email me at kelly.dutro@aps.edu to make an appointment to make up your quiz during lunch or after school.

Monday, 12/5: iMovie 101

We will also sign up for our presentation slots today! The sign up sheet is available on Google Sheets.

You may also wish to spend some time studying for your vocabulary final using the study guide available on Schoology. Remember, your vocabulary final exam will be one week from today on Monday, December 12! The best way to use the study guide is to take the test as many times as you can between now and December 12th. The study guide mimics the final, so if you consistently earn an A on the study guide you will likely earn an A on the final! Next week, I will enter the highest score you earn into the grade book.

Tuesday and Wednesday, 12/6-12/7: Documentary Planning Guide

Today you are to record the footage for your Influential Author Documentary Project and edit it using iMovie which is your English final exam and worth 15% of your final grade. Before you may record the footage for your project, you must finish and turn in your Documentary Planning Guide via Google Docs.

Due By End of Period Today:

  • Documentary Planning Guide

If you finish early please start working on tomorrow’s priority list or you may work on your vocabulary study guide.

Thursday and Friday, 12/8-12/9: Baseline and Finalizing the Final

First, you must take the baseline assessment on a blank sheet of paper. Remember, the baseline is purely for data gathering and for me to gauge where each individual student is in their analytical and writing abilities. I will compare this information to the previous baseline writing assessment you completed at the beginning of the year in order to evaluate growth. Be sure to use an eleven-sentence critical analysis paragraph!

Once you’ve finished the baseline assessment, you will have the rest of the period to prepare for your vocabulary final on Monday and your final presentation on Tuesday. Your vocabulary study guide is due on Monday before you take the final exam. Make sure you take the study guide quiz on Schoology. multiple times to earn the highest possible grade!
