Essential Question: How will I be a positive member of the classroom community this year?

All Classes

Welcome to the first day of school, Monarchs! I’m excited to work with each and every one of you this year. Every week, I publish a priority list that outlines our daily activities. If you are ever absent, late, or simply curious about what we’re doing on a specific day, visit the website and look for the appropriate day on the priority list.

Today, we will work on the following:

  • A brief introduction to the class using the course syllabus
  • Learn a little bit about Mrs. Dutro
  • Introduce yourself to the class using Play-Doh

You may download your course syllabus using one of the links below. Please remember that your signed syllabus and technology letter are due on Friday, August 18. You will receive ten points per signature sheet, so make sure you get them signed and turned in sometime this week.

DUE TODAY:

You may spend the first half of the period finishing your Mandala project that we started on Wednesday. Then, use the camera app on your assigned iPad to make a video no longer than two minutes in which you introduce yourself to the class, explain the significance of at least three symbols on your mandala, and share anything you want your peers to know about you before we begin the second week of school.

Once you’ve finished creating your video, please upload it to the class Padlet using the appropriate link below. Be sure to use your first and last name as the title of your post:

Once you have successfully uploaded your video, please watch the videos your peers post. Finally, leave a positive comment on at least THREE people’s videos. Since the goal is to meet new people, try commenting on the videos of people you don’t know before commenting on your friends’ videos.
